Workshop Focus & Instruction
This workshop explores the dynamic nature of water, with a central emphasis on how light interacts with the landscape. While oil paint will be used for all primary demonstrations and remains the core of the curriculum, we welcome artists working in other media.
Instruction:
Students will engage in learning through demonstrations, along with personalized feedback and hands-on demos.
Core Curriculum:
Light Effect: Mastering the essence of light
Light Direction: Anticipating shifts in natural daylight
Temporal Strategies: Capturing the essence of various times of the day, including nocturnes
Composition: Structuring and balancing tonal dynamics
Methodology: Investigating both open and closed practices
Equipment & Materials:
The registration fee covers instruction and specified amenities but does not include materials or plein air setups. Artists must provide their own paints, supports, easels, and other necessary gear. A comprehensive materials list will be shared with participants.

Location:
Participants will gather in the parking lot of Swallow Falls State Park and paint from various spots throughout the park. When planning your attire, keep in mind the potential for slippery surfaces near the waterfall and the changing temperature
